Legend has it that General Sherman’s army bypassed Charleston in his "March to the Sea" because of a reported Yellow Fever outbreak. The Yellow Fever story was a Confederate ploy to save the city, and we’re glad that it worked! What the General left behind was a treasure of America’s most beautiful and well-preserved homes.
